Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security Takes Charge of National Science and Technology Development

General Luong Tam Quang, a member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security, has recently been appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Aviation Security and Facilitation. This decision was formalized through Decision No. 152/QĐ-UBQGANHK&TTLHK, signed by Pham Gia Tuc, the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the committee.
The committee is designed to operate under a multi-sectoral coordination principle, ensuring unified direction from the Prime Minister and the committee's Chairman. Members of the committee will work on a part-time basis, executing their tasks according to their respective agency functions and the assignments given by the Chairman.
Key objectives of the committee include ensuring the balance between aviation security and facilitation, as well as aligning national security requirements with socio-economic development, in accordance with legal regulations and international practices. The committee will address inter-sectoral issues through cooperative discussions among relevant agencies, and in cases of differing opinions, the Executive Office will compile reports for the Chairman's review or direct submission to the Prime Minister.
The committee is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, with General Luong Tam Quang serving as the Permanent Deputy Chairman. Other notable members include Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security.
Additionally, the committee includes various deputy ministers from different ministries, such as Finance, Foreign Affairs, Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Science and Technology. The Executive Office of the committee will be responsible for assisting the Chairman and Vice Chairmen in fulfilling the committee's duties, organizing the implementation of national programs aimed at simplifying aviation procedures, and ensuring effective coordination among all involved parties.
