The richest city in Northern Vietnam is currently working on a significant infrastructure project: a 33-kilometer long boulevard that will feature 10 lanes. This ambitious project, known as the Tay Thang Long Boulevard, is expected to be completed by 2027 and will connect various large urban developments, including those from prominent real estate developers such as Vinhomes and Sunshine Group.
The boulevard will stretch approximately 33 kilometers and will have a width of 60.5 meters, accommodating 10 lanes of traffic. The main road will be 22.5 meters wide, flanked by two service roads of 14 meters each, with a central median of 6 meters. The project aims to enhance connectivity between the central urban area and the western outskirts of Hanoi.
Construction of the Tay Thang Long Boulevard has been ongoing, with some sections already completed and in use since 2019. These include segments from Vo Chi Cong to Pham Van Dong and from Van Tien Dung to Tay Tuu - Thuong Cat. The remaining sections are currently under development, with land clearance efforts accelerated since early 2026.
Notably, a tunnel connecting the Tay Thang Long Boulevard to Ring Road 3 is set to commence construction soon. This tunnel, measuring approximately 0.92 kilometers, will further improve the connectivity of the boulevard.
Once completed, the Tay Thang Long Boulevard will serve as a vital transportation axis linking the area from Vo Chi Cong through the old Bac Tu Liem and Dan Phuong districts to National Route 32. It will provide an additional major connection between the city center and the western areas of Hanoi.
Moreover, the boulevard is expected to stimulate real estate development along its route, with numerous large urban projects already being concentrated in the area. This includes developments like Ciputra, Starlake, Sunshine Tay Tuu, Sunshine Grand Capital, Noble Palace Garden, and the ecological urban area Noble River, as well as Vinhomes Wonder Park.
As the remaining sections of the boulevard are completed, it will directly connect to the ring road system and major traffic arteries in Western Hanoi, offering residents and travelers more options for accessing areas such as Dan Phuong, Phuc Tho, and Son Tay, reducing reliance on existing transport routes.
