The Miss Grand International Organization has announced that Thailand will host the 2027 edition of the beauty pageant, despite previous plans to hold it in Vietnam. This decision marks a return to the country where the pageant originated, celebrating its 15th anniversary.

On September 29, 2026, the organization confirmed the switch, stating, "Thailand is officially the host country of Miss Grand International 2027, as we return to where the journey began for a milestone unlike any other: 15 years of history, 15 years of grand." The announcement was made through their official Instagram account, highlighting the significance of this event.

Initially, in early September, Miss Grand International president Nawat Itsaragrisil had stated that Vietnam would host the event and that the hosting fee had already been paid. However, the reasons for the change in location have not been disclosed publicly.

This is not the first time the hosting location has changed for the Miss Grand International pageant. The 2026 edition was originally set to take place in India but was later moved to Thailand. Vietnam has previously hosted the pageant twice, in 2017 and 2023, showcasing its growing prominence in the international beauty scene.

Vietnamese contestants have had notable success in the competition, with Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien winning the crown in 2021. In the most recent edition in 2023, Le Hoang Phuong finished as the fourth runner-up and won the Best National Costume award.

As the Miss Grand International 2026 pageant unfolds in Thailand, Vietnamese representative Emoura Pham is making headlines. The Vietnamese-British contestant has already advanced to the top 15 in the talent competition, showcasing her skills in singing and dance.

The semifinal for Miss Grand International 2026 is scheduled for October 7, with the grand final taking place on October 10 in Thailand.
