In Vietnam, pension and social insurance payments are primarily made through bank transfers or cash withdrawals. For the upcoming month of October, many provinces will begin disbursing these payments right at the start of the month.

A total of 21 provinces and cities will issue payments on the first working day of the month. These include Sơn La, Điện Biên, Lạng Sơn, Nghệ An, Quảng Ninh, Bắc Ninh, Hưng Yên, Ninh Bình, Phú Thọ, Tuyên Quang, Huế, Gia Lai, Khánh Hòa, Lâm Đồng, Đắk Lắk, Ho Chi Minh City, Cần Thơ, Vĩnh Long, Cà Mau, and An Giang.

Additionally, 13 provinces will process payments on the second day of the month. These provinces are Hà Nội, Hải Phòng, Đà Nẵng, Đồng Nai, Tây Ninh, Thái Nguyên, Lào Cai, Lai Châu, Thanh Hóa, Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Trị, Quảng Ngãi, and Đồng Tháp.

For those receiving payments in cash, local social insurance offices will coordinate with the postal service to distribute payments according to a pre-established monthly schedule.

Starting September 28, 2026, beneficiaries will also have the option to receive their pensions and social insurance benefits through an integrated social insurance account on the VNeID application. This new method allows users to link their social insurance account to a payment account, e-wallet, or mobile payment account to receive their pensions and benefits directly.

It is important to note that the funds will not be stored within the VNeID application but will be transferred directly to the linked payment method. Beneficiaries who have not registered for the VNeID social insurance account will still receive their pensions and benefits through existing methods without any interruption in their entitlements.
