The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has taken decisive action against player Huỳnh Tấn Sinh following a controversial incident during the V.League match between Đồng Nai and Công an Hà Nội. The VFF's disciplinary committee has officially suspended Tấn Sinh for two matches and imposed a fine of 10 million VND due to a dangerous tackle on Nguyễn Đình Bắc.

The incident occurred during the third round of the V.League 2026/27 season at Bình Phước Stadium, where Tấn Sinh engaged in excessive physical play against Đình Bắc, leading to the latter falling to the ground. Initially, referee Lê Vũ Linh issued only a yellow card to Tấn Sinh, a decision that sparked outrage among fans who felt the punishment did not match the severity of the foul.

Following the match, the V.League organizing committee reviewed video footage and other relevant materials regarding the incidents involving Tấn Sinh and another player, Lê Văn Sơn, against Đình Bắc. This review prompted the VFF's disciplinary committee to convene on September 22, where they decided to impose additional sanctions on Tấn Sinh, which included a two-match suspension and the fine.

In addition to the VFF's ruling, Đồng Nai Football Club has also taken internal disciplinary measures against both Tấn Sinh and Lê Văn Sơn, fining each player 20 million VND. Tấn Sinh will also face an internal suspension for one match. Lê Văn Sơn had previously received a direct red card for a separate incident involving Đình Bắc in the same match.

In a statement, Đồng Nai Football Club expressed their commitment to maintaining discipline and fair play, acknowledging that actions stemming from competitive pressure or momentary emotions that negatively impact opponents are unacceptable. The club has reiterated the importance of controlling emotions and upholding the spirit of sportsmanship among its players.

The penalties imposed on Tấn Sinh and Văn Sơn are seen as a necessary step to reinforce discipline following a match that has drawn significant attention and controversy within the football community.
