Dong Nai Football Club has taken disciplinary action against two players, Le Van Son and Huynh Tan Sinh, following their unsportsmanlike behavior towards forward Nguyen Dinh Bac during the third round of the V-League 2026-2027 season. The incident occurred on September 20, 2023, during a match against Hanoi Police FC at the Dong Xoai Stadium.

In the match, Le Van Son received a red card after striking Dinh Bac with an elbow during a heated exchange. The referee issued a yellow card to Dinh Bac for initiating the altercation, while Van Son was penalized for his violent conduct. The club announced that both players would be fined 20 million VND each, with Tan Sinh also facing a one-match suspension.

The club's statement emphasized that actions reflecting a loss of control or poor sportsmanship, regardless of the circumstances, are unacceptable and must be corrected. They extended a sincere apology to Dinh Bac and Hanoi Police FC, expressing hope for understanding regarding the unfortunate events that transpired during the match.

Additionally, the Vietnam Football Federation's disciplinary board has also reviewed the incident and decided to impose a fine of 10 million VND on Tan Sinh, along with a two-match suspension from competitions organized by the federation.

Dong Nai, newly promoted to the V-League after winning the First Division in the previous season, has had a challenging start to their campaign, losing all three of their opening matches and currently sitting at the bottom of the league table without scoring a goal.
