A 27-year-old man from Da Lat, identified as H.N.M, has faced legal repercussions after he shared videos on TikTok demonstrating how to cut down a pine tree. The videos showed him cutting around the base of the tree and then felling it to obtain wood for furniture making. This act, which was not authorized by the relevant authorities, has raised significant concerns among local officials.

On September 13, 2026, Nguyen Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Xuân Hương Ward People's Committee in Da Lat, confirmed that the local authorities had documented the incident and were taking necessary actions against H.N.M. The videos not only showcased the act of cutting down the tree but also included instructions on how to make the tree die, which could encourage others to replicate this harmful behavior.

Local officials quickly became aware of the videos and initiated an investigation into the matter. It was determined that H.N.M. had cut down the tree without the necessary permissions.
