Tree Cutting Accident Claims Life in Thanh Hoa

A tragic incident unfolded in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, on September 9, when a tree cutting operation led to the death of a local man. The victim, identified as L.Đ.Th. (born 1958), was riding his motorcycle when a large tree, a species known as Khaya senegalensis, fell on him, resulting in fatal injuries.

According to the homeowner, L.T.T., the tree had been planted by her family over ten years ago. Due to concerns about impending storms, they decided to hire a carpenter, N.Q.T., to trim the tree. Unfortunately, during the cutting process, the tree unexpectedly fell, striking L.Đ.Th. as he passed by.

Witnesses reported that the area was clear and visibility was good at the time of the accident. L.T.T. expressed her shock and sadness over the incident, stating that it was an unfortunate event that affected not only her family but also the families of both the victim and the carpenter.

Local authorities, including Trinh Thi Nguyen, Chairwoman of the Quang Binh Commune, have expressed their condolences and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Nguyen noted that this was an unprecedented event in the area, and the local government has been actively promoting tree trimming safety ahead of storm seasons.

The community has come together to support the family of L.Đ.Th., with L.T.T. mentioning that they have visited the victim's family to offer condolences and assistance for the funeral arrangements. The carpenter, N.Q.T., is reportedly facing a difficult situation, as he is not a professional tree cutter and has limited work opportunities.

This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers involved in tree maintenance and the importance of hiring qualified professionals for such tasks.
