In a significant development at Le Thi Rieng Park, the K74 team from the Ho Chi Minh City Command has uncovered a second burial trench in Area A of the park. This latest find has led to the discovery of four remains of fallen soldiers, furthering the ongoing efforts to locate and honor those who served in the war.

Since the search began on June 23, authorities have been methodically excavating the area, which has resulted in the recovery of a total of 592 sets of remains, including 559 individual remains and 33 sets found in mass graves across two locations in Area A and six in Area B. Among these, 274 sets of remains were found with accompanying artifacts, providing crucial evidence for identification.

The discovery of the second trench is vital for cross-referencing with existing maps and documentation to understand the layout of burial sites in the area. This morning, the K74 team began the process of exhuming the four sets of remains while continuing to expand the trench to ensure that no remains or artifacts are overlooked.

Authorities are committed to documenting the precise locations, orientations, and burial layers of the remains to assist in future research and identification efforts. Moving forward, the Ho Chi Minh City Command plans to intensify the search efforts in the direction of the newly discovered trench and other suspected areas.
