Vietjet Reports Strong Business Results in H1 2026 with Expanded International Network
Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC) has released its financial report for the first half of 2026, revealing a consolidated revenue of 51.536 trillion VND, marking a 44% increase compared to the same period last year and achieving 59.4% of its annual plan. The net profit after tax reached 1.372 trillion VND, equivalent to 64.5% of the annual target.
In the first half of 2026, Vietjet's parent company reported a revenue of 45.030 trillion VND, a 26% year-on-year increase, reaching 58.5% of its annual goal. The consolidated net profit was 1.372 trillion VND, fulfilling 64.5% of the yearly plan.
As of June 30, 2026, Vietjet's total consolidated assets amounted to 149.093 trillion VND, with a net debt-to-equity ratio of 2.36 times and a liquidity ratio of 1.36 times. During this period, Vietjet contributed over 3.950 trillion VND to the state budget.
The airline's positive business results were supported by increased passenger transport volumes, an expanded international flight network, and effective cost management strategies.
In the first half of 2026, Vietjet transported over 13.4 million passengers on 72,000 flights, with nearly 41,000 tons of cargo transported. The airline currently operates 213 routes, including 46 domestic and 167 international routes. This year, Vietjet continued to expand its connections to Australia, China, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic, enhancing its presence in international markets and connecting Vietnam to major economic, trade, and tourism centers.
In the context of global aviation facing challenges from geopolitical fluctuations, fuel prices, and operational costs, Vietjet has implemented various commercial, financial, and cost management solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
The airline continues to diversify its products and services, offering Business, SkyBoss, Deluxe, and Eco fare classes, along with hot meals, VikkiCafe, Duty Free, SIM SkyFi, currency exchange services, the SkyJoy loyalty program, and integrated digital amenities throughout the passenger journey.
Vietjet is advancing its strategy of investing in a new generation fleet with a total order of nearly 600 aircraft, laying the groundwork for its future network development plans. Recently, Vietjet signed agreements to supply GTF engines from Pratt & Whitney for 44 Airbus A320neo aircraft, while also arranging financing for 12 Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
This investment in new aircraft aligns with the plan to expand the international flight network, enhance operational efficiency, and meet transportation demands in growing markets.
At the Singapore Airshow 2026, Vietjet, as a founding member, announced the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Aviation Finance Center, aimed at connecting financial institutions, investors, and international aviation enterprises to enhance aviation financial capabilities in Vietnam.
Additionally, Vietjet is intensifying its application of technology and artificial intelligence in management and operations, collaborating with OpenAirlines, Satair, and other international partners to optimize fuel consumption, improve operational efficiency, and reduce emissions.
Alongside passenger transport, Vietjet continues to develop supplementary activities within the aviation value chain, including ground services, cargo transport, training, aircraft engineering, aviation finance, and technology.
AirportNEO has provided ground services at major airports in Vietnam and is expanding its offerings to international airlines, including regular flights from Air India to and from Hanoi.
The cargo transport segment is also expanding in response to increasing trade and logistics demands in the region.
In terms of training, Victoria Aviation Academy continues to enhance its capacity to train aviation personnel to international standards. Vietjet collaborates with Australia Aviation, F Air Flight School, and is a training partner of IATA. The academy has conducted 9,662 courses for over 99,000 participants, including pilots, flight attendants, engineers, dispatchers, and aviation specialists.
An aircraft engineering company is being prepared for operation, gradually adding technical maintenance capabilities to Vietjet's aviation value chain.
In international markets, Vietjet Thailand continues to expand its flight network and operates a fleet of Boeing 737-8, while Vietjet Kazakhstan maintains operations on routes in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, contributing to the international connectivity of the Vietjet system.
According to Brand Finance, as of May 2026, Vietjet's brand value reached 906 million USD. In the first half of the year, Vietjet was recognized by international organizations for safety, service quality, workplace environment, and sustainable development. It was also acknowledged by Forbes Vietnam in the Top 50 Best Listed Companies in Vietnam and the Top 50 ESG Leaders. Cirium recognized Vietjet as the airline with the lowest emissions on flights in Southeast Asia.
Vietjet was also voted by international passengers at the Flyers’ Choice Awards 2026 by AirlineRatings and recognized at the Korean Consumer Awards in categories related to airline models, culinary experience, and service.
With its strong business results in the first half of the year, continued expansion of the international flight network, long-term fleet investment plans, and the development of activities within the aviation value chain, Vietjet is reinforcing its foundation for growth, diversifying revenue sources, and enhancing operational efficiency in the upcoming phases.
