Petrolimex Reports Nearly $9 Billion in Revenue in First Half of 2026

Petrolimex, officially known as the Vietnam National Petroleum Group, has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2026, showcasing an impressive growth trajectory. In the first six months of the year, the company generated a total revenue of approximately 234.977 trillion VND (nearly $9 billion), marking a 63% increase compared to the same period last year.

In the second quarter alone, Petrolimex achieved a record revenue of 136.253 trillion VND, which is a staggering 78% rise and represents the highest quarterly revenue the company has ever recorded. On average, the retail and distribution system of Petrolimex brought in over 1.300 trillion VND daily during the first half of 2026.

This remarkable revenue performance sets Petrolimex apart from Vietnam's top private enterprises, including Vingroup and PV Oil, among others. For context, the second highest revenue was reported by Vingroup at 222.5 trillion VND, followed by PV Oil at 135 trillion VND.

Despite the high cost of goods sold, which reached 223.523 trillion VND, resulting in a gross profit margin of about 4.8%, Petrolimex managed to achieve a net profit after tax of 2.382 trillion VND, a 46% increase year-on-year. Notably, the net profit for the second quarter alone was 3.045 trillion VND, reflecting a 114% increase compared to the same quarter last year.

Petrolimex attributes its positive results to four key factors: a 12% increase in fuel sales volume, effective management of supply and oil price risks, significant contributions from subsidiary companies, and strong performance in logistics and service sectors.

As of June 30, 2026, Petrolimex's total assets reached 87.876 trillion VND, with a notable cash position of 22.78 trillion VND, which constitutes over 25% of total assets. The company has also reduced its short-term debt significantly, from 18.085 trillion VND at the beginning of the year to 10.059 trillion VND.

In addition to its financial achievements, Petrolimex plans to sell all of its treasury shares, totaling 23.3 million shares, to enhance its financial capacity and comply with public company regulations.
