Citizens can apply for an identity card by submitting their applications either in person at the Ministry's Identity Management Agency or online through the National Public Service Portal or the VNeID application. The online process allows citizens to check their information in the National Population Database before scheduling an appointment for further processing.

Steps to Obtain an Identity Card

• Step 1: Submit Application
  Citizens can submit their applications directly at the Ministry's Identity Management Agency or partially online via the VNeID application. After verifying their information, they can book a time and location for further processing.
• Step 2: Processing and Result Delivery
  Upon arrival, citizens must provide their full name, personal identification number, and residence details for verification. If their information is not found in the database, they will need to present legal documents to validate their identity. After confirming the details, officials will collect biometric data, including fingerprints and photographs, and issue a receipt for the application.
• Step 3: Collecting the Identity Card
  Citizens can receive their identity cards directly at the Ministry or have them delivered to their specified address via postal service.

This streamlined process aims to enhance efficiency and accessibility for citizens seeking to obtain or renew their identity cards, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and maintained in the National Population Database.
