Billionaire Nguyễn Thị Phương Thảo has made headlines by presenting a unique gift to the Vietnam national football team after their recent triumph in the ASEAN Cup. Following their successful defense of the championship title, Vietjet, the airline where Thảo serves as Chairwoman, announced that all coaching staff and players would receive a special privilege: a year of complimentary SkyBoss flights across the Vietjet network.

This announcement came shortly after the team's impressive performance in the final match against Thailand, where they secured a 2-2 draw at My Dinh Stadium, resulting in an aggregate victory of 4-2. This win not only reaffirmed their status as champions but also brought a wave of financial rewards for the players and coaching staff.

As of the evening of August 26, it was reported that the Vietnam national team had received a total of at least 28.3 billion VND in cash bonuses. This includes a $300,000 prize (approximately 7.8 billion VND) awarded by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) for their championship win. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) contributed a total of 7.8 billion VND in bonuses prior to the final match and added an additional 3 billion VND after the championship victory.

Moreover, Nguyễn Đức Thụy, Vice Chairman of Sacombank, previously rewarded the team with a total of 4 billion VND following their victories against Indonesia and upon reaching the final. Acecook Vietnam contributed 500 million VND, while Agribank announced an additional 2 billion VND reward right after the final match.

In addition to these corporate rewards, each eligible player will receive 40 million VND from the state budget for their championship win, amounting to approximately 1 billion VND for the 25 players. As the celebration continues, it is expected that more organizations, businesses, and individuals will announce additional rewards for the national team.
