Vietnam National Football Team to Wear Special Jersey at ASEAN Cup

The Vietnam national football team has been granted the honor of wearing a special jersey at the upcoming 2026 ASEAN Cup, a privilege reserved solely for the tournament's reigning champions. According to the organizers, the jersey will prominently display the image of the ASEAN Cup trophy on the team's sleeves, a symbol of their current champion status.

This unique design will be featured on both the team's primary red kit and the secondary white kit during the tournament. Only the defending champions of the ASEAN Cup are allowed to wear this distinctive attire, making it a significant recognition of Vietnam's achievements in Southeast Asian football.

The Vietnam team, coached by Kim Sang Sik, is gearing up for the tournament with high hopes. The squad is reportedly stronger than the one that won the ASEAN Cup in 2024, bolstered by the inclusion of quality naturalized players such as forwards Nguyễn Tài Lộc and Đỗ Hoàng Hên, along with goalkeeper Lê Giang Patrik. Additionally, the return of experienced defenders Đoàn Văn Hậu and Phan Tuấn Tài adds depth to the team's lineup.

Among the promising new talents is forward Nguyễn Đình Bắc, whose development is seen as a positive sign for the team's prospects. In the 2026 ASEAN Cup, Vietnam is placed in Group A alongside Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, and Timor Leste. The team will kick off their campaign against Timor Leste on July 24, at the Chonburi Stadium in Thailand.
