On August 25, 2026, Vietnam marked the 115th anniversary of General Vo Nguyen Giap's birth, who was born on August 25, 1911. In remembrance of his contributions, a delegation from Quang Tri province visited his grave in Vung Chua, Phu Trach commune, to pay their respects.

The delegation was led by Tran Vu Khiem, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and included other notable officials such as Le Hong Vinh, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. They offered incense and flowers at the grave of General Giap, expressing their deep gratitude to this outstanding military leader.

In a solemn atmosphere, the representatives paid their respects and observed a moment of silence in memory of General Giap, who was a distinguished student of President Ho Chi Minh and a revered figure in the Vietnam People's Army. His strategic military acumen and leadership were pivotal in Vietnam's struggle for independence and national unity.

The memorial site in Vung Chua, where General Giap was laid to rest on October 13, 2013, is not only a place of remembrance but also a significant historical site. It is located in a picturesque area known for its natural beauty, approximately 10 kilometers southeast of Ngang Pass.

In addition to honoring General Giap, the delegation also paid tribute to his wife, Dang Bich Ha, who is buried alongside him. The site serves as a reminder of their contributions to their homeland.

In An Xa village, Quang Tri province, where General Giap was born, the Vo Nguyen Giap Memorial Area has become a significant destination for visitors. It includes a memorial house that showcases various artifacts and documents related to his life and career, helping the public understand the legacy of this revered leader.

Since the beginning of 2026, the memorial has welcomed over 15,000 visitors, reflecting a growing interest in General Giap's life and contributions, especially during the month of August and other holidays.
