In Hưng Yên, at the junction of Road 221A in Hưng Phú commune, a significant number of 2-5 story houses are being demolished as part of the land clearance process for the construction of Road No. 3. Local residents are cooperating by vacating their properties to facilitate this important infrastructure project.

Residents, some of whom have lived in the area for nearly 30 years, express mixed feelings about leaving their homes. For instance, Đoàn Văn Tuyến, a resident of Hưng Phú, shared his sentiments about having to leave his three-story house, which he built with years of savings. Despite the emotional toll, he and his family have agreed to accept compensation and relocate to a resettlement area for the greater good of the community.

The area around the Road 221A junction was once a bustling center of the former Nam Hưng commune, now part of Hưng Phú. It has a high density of residential buildings and businesses along both sides of the road. The land clearance process faced challenges due to the number of homes and structures affected, making it a significant bottleneck in the Road No. 3 project.

To address these challenges, the local government has initiated a 30-day campaign to promote awareness and facilitate the land clearance process. This includes holding numerous meetings and direct dialogues with residents to explain compensation policies and resettlement support. Task forces have also been established to engage with households directly, ensuring that residents' concerns and suggestions are heard.

Currently, 116 households are affected by the land acquisition for the Road No. 3 project. As of now, 92 households have accepted compensation totaling over 268 billion VND, with 78 households having already demolished their properties. The local government is also working to expedite the construction of infrastructure in the resettlement areas to help families stabilize their lives as soon as possible. The transparent and democratic process of assigning resettlement plots is being strictly adhered to, ensuring fairness and compliance with regulations.

The successful resolution of the land clearance issues at the Road 221A junction is paving the way for the continued development of Road No. 3, which is expected to enhance transportation connectivity and support the growth of the Thái Bình Economic Zone.
