In the 2024 university admission season, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has welcomed 31 students from Tuyen Quang Specialized High School. Notably, the majority of these students gained admission through talent assessment and thinking evaluation methods, with only one student admitted based on their scores from the second national high school graduation exam.

According to the Admissions and Career Guidance Board of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, this year, 78 students from Tuyen Quang Specialized High School applied for admission, submitting a total of 296 aspirations. After the national filtering process, 31 students were accepted into 21 training programs at the university. Among these, 25 students were admitted through the talent assessment method 1.3, which involves evaluating their capabilities combined with an interview. Additionally, five students were accepted based on their thinking assessment scores, and only one student was admitted through the second national high school graduation exam scores.

The admitted students have impressive achievements, including four who received national encouragement awards, seven who won first prizes at the provincial level, six who received second prizes, five who earned third prizes, and three who received encouragement awards. Furthermore, ten students hold IELTS certificates ranging from 5.5 to 6.5.

Some of the students have been accepted into popular fields such as Computer Science (IT1), Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10), and Microelectronics Engineering and Nanotechnology (MS2). Previously, Hanoi Medical University also announced that it expects to admit 11 students from Tuyen Quang Specialized High School in the supplementary admission round, including two students who will be directly admitted to the fields of Medicine and Odonto-Stomatology.

This year, students from Tuyen Quang Specialized High School registered for aspirations at 122 universities. The second national high school graduation exam at Tuyen Quang Specialized High School took place on August 14 and 15, with 326 students needing to retake the exam due to irregularities in the initial results, which are currently under investigation. The results from the retake will be used for graduation recognition and university admission according to regulations.
