On August 21, 2026, the Hanoi police announced the arrest of Do Thi Thu Huyen, who was caught in possession of illegal drugs at the entrance of a primary school in the Dong Da district. This arrest is part of a broader investigation into drug-related activities in the area.

The case began earlier this month when local police apprehended Dang Hong Quan, a 51-year-old resident of Hai Phong, for possessing methamphetamine. During the investigation, authorities discovered that Quan and his wife, Nguyen Thi Thuy, were involved in a drug distribution operation. They were found with nearly one gram of methamphetamine and additional drug paraphernalia at their residence.

Further inquiries revealed that the couple had been sourcing their drugs from Do Thi Thu Huyen. On August 6, police coordinated efforts to apprehend Huyen as she was found with illegal substances outside the school. During questioning, Huyen admitted to purchasing drugs through a social media account under the alias "ki ki ki" to resell for profit, as she was unemployed.

The police are currently compiling evidence to ensure that all individuals involved in this drug operation are prosecuted according to the law. This incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement in Vietnam to combat drug trafficking and ensure community safety.
