30 Arrested in Major Drug Bust in Ho Chi Minh City

On June 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's Drug Crime Investigation Unit (PC04) apprehended 30 individuals suspected of engaging in various drug-related activities, including organizing drug use, illegal drug trafficking, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation began earlier in June when local police conducted an unexpected check at a hotel in Dong Thanh commune, Hóc Môn district, where they discovered two individuals exhibiting signs of drug use. This led to a broader investigation into the drug trade and related activities involving multiple people.

Following the initial discovery, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's leadership directed the establishment of a specialized task force to combat and dismantle the drug network. After a thorough investigation, the task force executed a series of coordinated operations, resulting in the arrest of 30 suspects.

During the raids on various locations associated with the suspects, police seized nearly one kilogram of crystal meth, 5.5 liters of liquid containing drugs, two cars, five motorcycles, 48 small scales, 37 mobile phones, and numerous machines and data storage devices. Additionally, authorities confiscated over 12,000 glass pipes, approximately 550 kilograms of plastic bags for packaging, more than 500 drug distribution tools, and hundreds of cardboard boxes. The total weight of the seized items exceeded one ton.

According to investigators, the arrested individuals participated in various stages of the drug trade, from purchasing and selling drugs to providing tools and equipment for illegal drug use. The case is currently under investigation by the Ho Chi Minh City Police.
