Apple Expected to Raise iPhone Prices Amid New Features
Apple is anticipated to introduce significant price increases for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18

Apple is making significant changes to its iPhone release schedule, with the iPhone 18 models being launched in two separate phases. This year, the company will introduce its three most expensive models in September 2026, while the standard iPhone 18 will not be available until spring 2027.
The models set to be unveiled in fall 2026 include the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The iPhone 18 Pro will resemble the iPhone 17 Pro, but it is expected to feature a smaller Dynamic Island and a variable aperture Wide camera for improved lighting adjustments. Additionally, it will be powered by Apple's next-generation A20 chip, which is built on a 2nm process.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max will also maintain a similar design to its predecessor but may be slightly thicker due to a larger battery. There is speculation that the new camera features could be exclusive to the Pro Max model. Both Pro models will be available in a new dark cherry color.
Apple's first foldable iPhone, potentially named the iPhone Ultra, is also on the horizon. When closed, it will measure approximately 5.5 inches and expand to around 7.8 inches when opened. This device is expected to offer multitasking features similar to an iPad mini and will utilize Touch ID instead of Face ID, along with a two-camera system.
Due to rising memory costs, analysts predict that the iPhone 18 Pro models could see a price increase ranging from $100 to $300 compared to the iPhone 17 Pro models, which currently start at $1,099 for the Pro and $1,199 for the Pro Max. The foldable iPhone is rumored to be priced between $2,000 and $2,500.
The standard iPhone 18 is expected to feature the same A20 chip, additional RAM, a smaller Dynamic Island, and a new C2 modem chip. There are also plans for the iPhone 18e, which will be an upgrade from the iPhone 17e, featuring a new chip and 9GB of RAM. Furthermore, Apple is rumored to be developing a second-generation iPhone Air, which may include a second camera and a larger battery.
Following the release of the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 in spring 2027, it remains uncertain whether Apple will continue with this split launch strategy or revert to its traditional timeline. There are whispers of a special 20th-anniversary iPhone expected in fall 2027, which is anticipated to be a higher-end model. This new timing may help Apple distribute iPhone sales more evenly throughout the year.
