Thailand and Philippines Women's Volleyball Teams Surprise at World Championship
The women's volleyball teams from Thailand and the Philippines have made headlines by delivering unexpected

Vietnamese volleyball teams are preparing for the ASEAN Military Volleyball Championship 2026, which is scheduled to take place in Hanoi from August 21 to 26. On August 18, all six participating teams arrived in the capital, where they will be accommodated in international-standard facilities to ensure a comfortable stay during the tournament.
The teams competing in this year’s championship include the Vietnam Military Volleyball Team, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Volleyball Team, and representatives from Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Singapore. As the host nation, Vietnam is looking to make a strong showing in the tournament.
Prior to the official matches, teams will have training sessions at the Dong Anh Sports Center. The competition will feature a round-robin format across two groups, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. A technical meeting will be held on August 20, where each team will announce their roster of 14 players.
Admission to the matches will be free, allowing fans to support their teams throughout the tournament. Additionally, a Video Challenge Eyes system will be installed to assist referees during the matches, ensuring fair play and accurate officiating.
The Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team is also enhancing its training regimen with the addition of specialized equipment, including a ball-throwing machine. This equipment will aid in the training process, allowing players to improve their skills under the guidance of coach Federico Rampazzo, who is focusing on refining the team's defensive strategies.
With a roster of 19 players currently in training, the coaching staff will finalize the squad to 12 players before the Asian Games 20. The upcoming ASEAN Military Volleyball Championship is expected to be a significant event for the teams involved, showcasing the growing competitiveness of volleyball in the region.
