Traffic Organization Review on Three Highways Managed by VEC

The Vietnam Road Administration has ordered the Vietnam Expressway Development Corporation (VEC) to conduct a thorough review of traffic organization on three highways: the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh, Noi Bai-Lao Cai, and Da Nang-Quang Ngai routes. This review is critical to ensure safety and efficiency in traffic management, and it must be completed by August 26, 2026.

In particular, VEC is required to assess the operational conditions, traffic organization methods, speed limits, lane divisions, and the signaling systems on these highways. For the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh and Da Nang-Quang Ngai highways, VEC must ensure that the traffic organization aligns with adjacent segments, including reviewing speed limits and enhancing road signage.

For the Da Nang-Quang Ngai highway, the focus will be on the actual operational conditions, especially in areas with emergency stopping lanes. If any operational conditions do not meet current technical standards, VEC must propose appropriate adjustments, including potential changes to speed limits, for review and approval by the Vietnam Road Administration.

The Noi Bai-Lao Cai highway is also under scrutiny, particularly from Km123 to Km244. VEC is tasked with reviewing all construction sites and promptly addressing any issues that could impact traffic order and safety. This includes updating the signage, lane markings, and other elements of the traffic organization plan to ensure compliance with approved standards and current technical regulations.

Additionally, VEC must investigate and specify the functions of each lane, the types of vehicles permitted, lane-changing rules, overtaking guidelines, and restrictions on prolonged use of the shoulder lanes. The Vietnam Road Administration has also instructed VEC to regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of the traffic organization plan based on actual operational conditions.

If there are changes in operational conditions or infrastructure, or if issues arise during operations, VEC is required to propose timely adjustments to the plan. The completion of this review and the rectification of identified issues must be reported to the Vietnam Road Administration by the deadline.
