University Admission Scores for 2026 Begin to be Announced
Starting today, several universities in Vietnam are releasing their admission scores for the academic year

A 19-year-old student, identified as H.P.D., from Vinh Hoa village in Ha Tinh province, has died unexpectedly after being accepted into Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The news of his passing has saddened many, including family, teachers, and friends.
According to Truong Quoc Hai, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Thach Khe commune, H.P.D. suffered a stroke while working at a construction site on August 9. Just days before his death, he had received the news of his acceptance into the university's Thermal Engineering program, scoring an impressive 26.92 points in the national high school graduation exam.
H.P.D. was working part-time to save money for a laptop to prepare for his university studies. His family is known to have faced financial difficulties, with his father working as a construction worker and his mother without a stable job. H.P.D. also has a younger sister still in middle school.
Despite their hardships, H.P.D. was recognized as a diligent and bright student. In the past, he expressed a desire to share any support he received with classmates who were in even tougher situations. Local authorities and community representatives have visited to pay their respects and offer condolences to the grieving family, and plans are underway to provide further assistance to them in the coming days.
