Nguyen Thi Tuyet Chinh, the owner of Tuyet Chinh Dental Clinic in Ho Chi Minh City, is facing serious legal repercussions following an incident where she allegedly assaulted a customer. The trial is scheduled for August 13, 2026, at the People's Court of District 7.

The case stems from a dental treatment dispute that began in August 2021 when a customer, Nguyen Thi Tien Thao, began orthodontic treatment at Chinh's clinic. Thao paid an initial fee of 5 million VND for braces, with an agreement to pay the remaining balance over time. However, after the braces were removed in August 2025, Thao experienced pain and dissatisfaction with the results, leading her to seek compensation from Chinh.

On September 3, 2025, Thao and her friend, Tran Thi Phuong Uyen, visited the clinic to discuss the issue further. An argument ensued when Chinh refused to acknowledge any fault in Thao's treatment. During the confrontation, Chinh allegedly attacked Thao with a metal rod, leading to a chaotic scene where she also damaged Thao's phone and glasses.

Thao subsequently reported the incident to the local police and is demanding compensation for medical expenses, damages to her phone, and other related costs, totaling over 1.1 billion VND. The court has determined that while some damages were confirmed, the injuries sustained by Thao and Uyen were assessed at 0%, which complicates the legal proceedings against Chinh.

The case has drawn significant public attention, highlighting issues of patient rights and professional conduct within the dental industry in Vietnam. As the trial approaches, many are watching closely to see how the legal system will address the allegations against Chinh.
