A recent incident in Hanoi's Thanh Ha urban area has raised concerns about vehicle safety after a car was found missing two wheels. The owner, K.L., reported that her husband parked their vehicle overnight about 200 meters from their apartment building, in an area lacking surveillance cameras or security personnel.

On the morning of August 7, K.L.'s husband discovered the shocking situation when he went to retrieve the car for work. He found that the two wheels on the driver's side had been stolen, leaving the vehicle precariously resting on bricks, with the brake discs and other internal components exposed.

"When my husband informed me, I rushed to the scene in shock. I still can't believe that two wheels were taken overnight. Many other cars were parked in the same area, and I never expected this to happen to us," K.L. expressed.

According to K.L., the underground parking garage in their apartment complex was full, prompting residents to park their vehicles along the internal roads. Recently, a new parking lot with security was established in the area, but it is not yet covered and has just begun operations.

"If we parked incorrectly, we would accept responsibility. However, we hope the authorities can find the culprit to help residents feel secure and improve the overall safety in our community," she added.

K.L. mentioned that she had heard of other residents experiencing thefts, such as stolen mirrors or batteries, but this was the first time a vehicle had lost wheels near the apartment complex.

In light of this incident, K.L. and her family plan to park their car in the newly established, secure parking lot to ensure the safety of their property. They purchased the vehicle at the end of 2025 for nearly 550 million VND. As of now, they are busy working with the police and have not yet looked into the cost of replacing the stolen wheels.
