On August 4, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam held a ceremony to announce the appointments of two new Deputy Ministers, Nguyễn Thị Hoàng Vân and Nguyễn Hoàng Long. The appointments were made by Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, reflecting the government's commitment to strengthening its diplomatic leadership.

During the ceremony, Minister Lê Hoài Trung emphasized the importance of enhancing the leadership team within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to meet the increasing demands of international relations and integration. He noted that the current global and regional landscape is rapidly evolving and complex, necessitating a robust and capable diplomatic corps.

Minister Lê Hoài Trung stated that modern diplomacy plays a crucial role not only in maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development but also in mobilizing external resources to enhance Vietnam's international standing and safeguard national interests.

Nguyễn Thị Hoàng Vân, born in 1972 and hailing from Ninh Bình province, holds a master's degree in development research and has extensive experience in foreign affairs. Previously, she served as the Deputy Secretary of the Central Party Committee for Central Agencies.

Nguyễn Hoàng Long, born in 1976 and a PhD in economics, has been involved in Vietnam's diplomatic service since 1999, holding various significant positions including Deputy Head of the European Department and Ambassador to Italy and the UK.

Both new Deputy Ministers expressed their commitment to learning, teamwork, and upholding the proud traditions of Vietnam's diplomatic service. They aim to contribute to building a comprehensive, modern, and professional diplomatic framework for Vietnam.
