A severe traffic jam was reported on Vinh Tuy Bridge in Hanoi, particularly affecting the direction towards Long Bien. As the rain poured down in the late afternoon of July 31, many drivers found themselves stuck in traffic, with some even exiting their vehicles due to the inability to move.

The heavy rainfall led to localized flooding in various areas, including Vinh Tuy and Long Bien, causing significant disruptions on surrounding roads. Notably, the traffic on Ring Road 2 towards Long Bien was severely hindered. A witness, Viet Anh from Long Bien, noted that the congestion extended from Minh Khai Street to Vinh Tuy Bridge, where many vehicles were completely immobilized.

Reports indicated that the situation worsened near the intersection of Co Linh and Dam Quang Trung, where water accumulation and stalled vehicles contributed to the gridlock. By approximately 7:50 PM, traffic on Vinh Tuy Bridge began to ease, allowing vehicles to move again, albeit at a slow pace due to the high volume of cars. Residents were advised to consider alternative routes to avoid the ongoing congestion.

The authorities have acknowledged the traffic issues and are expected to implement adjustments to improve the situation, particularly in light of the forecasted heavy rains in the coming days.
