A concrete truck was involved in an incident under the Long Bien Bridge late on July 17, causing significant disruption but fortunately no injuries. The truck, which was transporting fresh concrete, collided with the bridge's structure, becoming lodged beneath it.
According to the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi, the truck, registered to the S.H. Concrete Company and driven by a 24-year-old from Tuyen Quang, was traveling on the Ngoc Thuy dyke road towards the Chuong Duong Bridge when the accident occurred. The impact resulted in damage to the truck and the bridge, with a section of the bridge measuring approximately 20x20 cm being crushed. Additionally, around one cubic meter of concrete fell onto the road.
Upon receiving the report, the Road Traffic Police Team No. 5 dispatched officers to the scene to manage traffic and assist in the recovery of the truck. They also conducted an investigation into the incident. Tests for alcohol and drug use revealed that the driver was not under the influence at the time of the accident.
Following the incident, the S.H. Concrete Company collaborated with the management of Long Bien Bridge to clear the fallen concrete and ensure traffic safety. Both parties are currently assessing the extent of the damage and coordinating on a plan to rectify the situation caused by the collision.
