India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has made a firm statement regarding the country's stance on Pakistan, asserting that there will be no talks with the neighboring nation except on the issue of Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK). Singh's remarks were made during a commemorative event on July 26, 2026, marking the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, which honors India's military victory in the Kargil War of 1999.

During his address at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras, Singh criticized Pakistan for its state policy of terrorism, stating that Operation Sindoor clearly demonstrated the consequences for those who threaten India. He emphasized that India is capable of responding to any misadventure by Pakistan in ways that exceed their imagination. "Any evil step towards the sovereignty and integrity of India will meet with the same fate," he warned.

Singh highlighted the contrast between India's focus on innovation and development, such as designing ships and establishing data centers, and Pakistan's alleged focus on terrorism and infiltration. He stated, "While we are finding new ways of innovation, Pakistan is seeking new ways of infiltration. Today, India is making data centers but Pakistan is busy creating radical centers."

Reflecting on the Kargil War, Singh described India's victory as a significant achievement that showcased the indomitable courage and valor of Indian soldiers. He paid tribute to the fallen heroes and reiterated the importance of commemorating their sacrifices. The event included a ceremonial tribute from military leaders, with helicopters showering floral petals on the memorial.

Singh's remarks underscore the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly concerning the status of Kashmir. He reiterated that any discussions with Pakistan would only pertain to PoK, which India claims as part of its territory illegally occupied by Pakistan.
