VinFast, a prominent player in the electric vehicle market, has unveiled its latest electric scooter, the Kyo, which is priced starting at 30 million VND. This model stands out among its peers due to its large storage compartment, which can accommodate two batteries while still providing ample space for users' belongings.
The Kyo is part of VinFast's strategic launch alongside another model, the Kinet, and is designed to be more accessible to a broader audience. The base price of 30 million VND does not include a battery, but purchasing one will increase the price to 35.3 million VND. With a seat height of 785 mm, the Kyo offers a comfortable riding experience, slightly taller than many other scooters in its class.
In terms of dimensions, the Kyo measures 1,999 mm in length, 694 mm in width, and 1,130 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,360 mm and a ground clearance of 160 mm. The scooter features familiar elements such as a TFT display, Smartkey technology, and connectivity with the VinFast e-Scooter app.
A unique highlight of the Kyo is its battery compartment, which maintains a storage capacity of 21 liters despite housing two batteries. Users have the option to carry only one battery to increase storage space further. The Kyo is powered by an in-hub motor with a maximum output of 3,000 W (1,800 W nominal) and can reach a top speed of 64 km/h. When equipped with two batteries, the scooter can travel up to 160 km on a full charge under standard conditions. During testing, it was noted that the scooter could achieve speeds of up to 70 km/h.
With its competitive pricing and innovative features, the VinFast Kyo is set to challenge other electric scooters in the market, such as the Yadea Vora, Dat Bike Era, and Quantum. This launch marks a significant step for VinFast as it continues to expand its electric vehicle offerings in Vietnam.
