VinFast, a prominent name in Vietnam's electric vehicle market, has unveiled two new electric motorcycle models, the VinFast Kinet and VinFast Kyo. These launches are part of the company's strategy to expand its electric motorcycle offerings in Vietnam, where they will compete directly with established brands such as Honda and Yamaha.
The VinFast Kinet is designed with a sporty aesthetic and is expected to retail for over 40 million VND. It boasts dimensions of 2,021 mm in length, 713 mm in width, and 1,135 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,360 mm and a ground clearance of 160 mm. The Kinet features a 22-liter under-seat storage compartment and 14-inch wheels with a rear tire size of 120/70-14. Its electric motor, capable of producing a maximum power of 5.2 kW, allows it to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in under six seconds, reaching a top speed of 90 km/h. With two fully charged LFP batteries of 1.5 kWh each, the Kinet can cover a distance of up to 145 km under standard conditions.
On the other hand, the VinFast Kyo is designed with a more elegant look and is expected to be priced between 30 to 35 million VND. Its dimensions are slightly smaller, measuring 1,999 mm in length, 694 mm in width, and 1,130 mm in height, with the same wheelbase and ground clearance as the Kinet. The Kyo weighs approximately 104 kg when equipped with batteries. Its motor has a maximum output of 3 kW, allowing for a top speed of 64 km/h. With two batteries, the Kyo can achieve a maximum range of 160 km per full charge.
Both models come equipped with a TFT display and smart key technology. Users can leverage the VinFast e-Scooter app to access GPS location services, locate their vehicles remotely, and set up safe zones. Additionally, both motorcycles feature disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, providing support for hill starts. VinFast has ensured that both models meet the IP67 waterproof standard, which allows them to withstand water depths of up to 50 cm for a maximum of 30 minutes.
The official pricing for the VinFast Kinet and Kyo is expected to be announced soon, marking a significant step in VinFast's commitment to promoting electric mobility in Vietnam.
