A driver of a Porsche was arrested in Ho Chi Minh City after a chaotic incident involving a wild pursuit and confrontation with another driver. The altercation, which occurred on July 12, involved Dương Quốc Thái, 42, and Trần Thanh Lâm, 46, who was driving a Mitsubishi.
According to police reports, the two vehicles were involved in aggressive driving on Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa street, where they began to cut each other off. The situation escalated at the intersection of Nguyễn Du and Huyền Trân Công Chúa, where both drivers stopped their cars in the middle of the road.
Thái exited his Porsche and verbally assaulted Lâm, even damaging Lâm's vehicle by breaking its left-side mirror. In retaliation, Lâm used a motorcycle to block Thái's Porsche and began to physically damage the car. The confrontation quickly turned into a physical fight, with both drivers attacking each other and vandalizing their vehicles, causing significant disruption to traffic as onlookers gathered to witness the scene.
Local authorities have since arrested both Thái and Lâm for public disorder. The police have issued a warning to motorists, advising them to remain calm during traffic incidents and to avoid resolving conflicts through violence. Stopping in the middle of the road for a fight not only jeopardizes road safety but could also lead to criminal charges.
This incident highlights the importance of maintaining composure on the roads and the potential legal consequences of aggressive driving behavior.
