The National University of Ho Chi Minh City has officially released the details regarding the percentile rankings and the conversion framework for the 2026 competency assessment scores. This announcement was made on July 6, 2026, and it includes the conversion of competency assessment scores to equivalent scores for the high school graduation exam.

According to the university, the conversion framework has been reported to the Ministry of Education and Training. The percentile rankings utilize the highest scores achieved by candidates in both testing sessions this year. The rankings detail the percentile group, the number of candidates in each group, and the highest and lowest scores within those groups.

Approximately 1% of candidates, equating to 1,954 individuals, scored between 1,004 and 1,139 points out of a total of 1,200 in the competency assessment. The conversion framework applies to five subject combinations: A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Mathematics, Physics, English), B00 (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology), C00 (Literature, History, Geography), and D01 (Literature, Mathematics, English).

For instance, candidates scoring between 996 and 1,108 points in the competency assessment will have their scores converted to between 27.5 and 29.75 points in the A00 combination for the high school graduation exam. The conversion decreases gradually, with candidates scoring between 899 and 905 points equivalent to 25.35 to 25.5 points in the A00 combination.

In the A01 combination, only those scoring between 1,027 and 1,139 points will be equivalent to 26.75 to 29.25 points in the high school graduation exam. The B00 combination uniquely allows for a maximum score of 30 points when converted from the competency assessment.
