Nguyễn Đức Minh, a 9th-grade student from Tan Dinh Secondary School in Hanoi, has achieved remarkable success by becoming the top student in the entrance exam for the specialized physics class at Chu Van An High School for the 2026-2027 academic year. With a score of 47.25, including an impressive 9.75 in the physics subject, Minh expressed his joy and excitement upon receiving the results of this highly competitive examination.
After completing the exam, Minh felt confident about his performance, leading him to believe he could achieve either the top or second rank. He shared his study approach, emphasizing the importance of logical thinking and real-world application in physics. Rather than rote memorization, Minh dedicates time to exploring additional resources and engaging with teachers and peers when faced with challenging problems. He maintains a consistent daily study routine instead of cramming before exams.
In addition to his success at Chu Van An High School, Minh has also been accepted into the specialized physics program at the University of Education High School. His aspiration to become a teacher stems from the inspiration he received from his own teachers at Tan Dinh Secondary School. "The teachers at Tan Dinh ignited my passion for learning, and I hope to inspire future generations just as they did for me," Minh stated.
Minh's impressive achievements come after a significant shift in focus during his 8th grade. Initially, he aimed to pursue mathematics, but with guidance from his teachers, he transitioned to physics, which proved to be a pivotal moment in his academic journey. His mother, Lê Thị Thanh, expressed her surprise and pride upon learning her son had become the top student, noting that their family has always encouraged him to learn out of passion rather than pressure.
Throughout the preparation for the entrance exam, the family fostered a supportive environment, ensuring Minh maintained a balance between study and relaxation. "Whenever he felt stressed, I reminded him that the outcome was secondary to his effort," she shared. This supportive atmosphere has contributed to Minh's confidence and determination.
Phạm Phương Thanh, Minh's homeroom teacher, praised his exceptional analytical skills in natural sciences, particularly in mathematics and physics. She noted that he has received accolades in local and city-level competitions. Beyond academics, Minh is admired for his humility, diligence, and willingness to assist his classmates.
Minh's journey reflects not only his academic prowess but also his resilience and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others as he aspires to return to Tan Dinh Secondary School as a teacher in the future.
