Vietnam Navy Training Center Launches Technical Course 51

On June 22, 2026, the Vietnam Navy's Region 1 Technical Training Center held an opening ceremony for its 51st technical course in Quang Ninh. Colonel Trinh Phuc Kien, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Region 1, attended and directed the event.

This year, the center has been tasked with training 305 junior technical recruits, who were selected from the recent basic training course for new soldiers across the region.

The recruits will be divided into 12 classes, focusing on various specializations, including maritime operations, ship machinery, ship radar, coastal radar, ship artillery, ship missiles, coastal missiles, ship torpedoes, and reporting stations.

During the ceremony, Colonel Trinh Phuc Kien praised the achievements of the center's staff and soldiers, particularly highlighting the successful training outcomes from the previous 50th course in 2025.

Colonel Kien emphasized the need for the center to innovate teaching methods and ensure formal training in technical specialties. He urged the integration of information technology into lesson planning to enhance the quality of education. The training approach should adhere to the principles of being fundamental, practical, and solid, while combining military training with political education and life skills for the recruits.

He also encouraged each recruit to recognize their responsibilities, actively engage in learning to improve their skills, and maintain discipline and moral standards to meet the demands of their future roles.

Following the inauguration, Colonel Kien and his team visited and motivated the staff and recruits at the center.
