HCMC tightens control over illegal entry by sea
The maritime border unit under the HCMC Border Guard Command has set up five checkpoints to control spread

On June 19, the Border Guard Command of Cao Bang, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, and Tay Ninh provinces held a conference to announce the decision to reorganize the UAV team into a drone unit under the command of the provincial Border Guard Headquarters.
Colonel Ta Van Tuan, the commander of the Cao Bang Border Guard, presented the appointment decisions for various positions within the new drone unit. This formation is a concrete step towards modernizing the military and establishing a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Border Guard force. It aims to enhance the effectiveness of managing and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security, as well as improving rapid response capabilities to aerial situations.
During the meeting at the Cao Bang Border Guard Headquarters, Colonel Ta Van Tuan emphasized the importance of quickly stabilizing the organization and building a comprehensive and strong unit. He urged the new drone unit to focus on training, mastering technical equipment, and effectively utilizing drones to meet the demands of managing and protecting national territorial integrity and border security in the new context.
At the Quang Tri Border Guard Headquarters, Colonel Trinh Thanh Binh highlighted that reorganizing the UAV team into a drone unit is significant for fulfilling the tasks of managing and protecting national sovereignty and border security. He stressed the need to actively apply modern scientific and technological achievements in national defense and security operations.
Colonel Binh called for rapid implementation of the Ministry of Defense's decisions, ensuring proper organization and staffing, and enhancing political education for officers and soldiers. He also urged the drone unit to promptly stabilize its structure and fully understand its functions and responsibilities.
Colonel Bui Hong Thanh, commander of the Ha Tinh Border Guard, also addressed the need for leadership at all levels to support the drone unit's effective operations. He encouraged the unit to enhance training, research, and mastery of the technical features and tactics of the equipment provided to them.
The establishment of the drone unit reflects the proactive approach of Vietnam’s Border Guard in adapting to modern challenges in border management and security. It is expected to significantly contribute to the quality of operations aimed at protecting national sovereignty in the evolving security landscape.
