Eight Generals and Three Colonels Awarded Party Medals

On August 25, 2026, a significant ceremony was held in Hanoi where eight generals and three colonels from the Vietnam People's Army received the esteemed 35-Year Party Membership Medal. This recognition highlights their unwavering commitment and contributions to the Party and the nation over the years.

The event was attended by General Phan Van Giang, a member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense. He presented the medals and delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of loyalty and dedication to the Party's ideals.

The medal was awarded to five members of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Ministers of National Defense, including:

  • General Pham Hoai Nam
  • General Nguyen Truong Thang
  • General Nguyen Van Hien
  • General Nguyen Quang Ngoc
  • General Nguyen Van Gau

Additionally, Colonel Le Van Thuan, Deputy Chief of the Central Military Commission Office, also received the medal during this ceremony.

On August 24, another ceremony took place where three more generals were awarded the same medal. This included:

  • General Phung Si Tan
  • General Nguyen Van Nghia
  • General Pham Truong Son

Moreover, on August 27, two former commanders of Military Corps 3 and 4 were also honored with the 35-Year Party Membership Medal, showcasing the recognition of service across various ranks and positions within the military.
