HCMC – The Ministry of Transport this morning, May 18, announced in a statement that two more sections of the North-South Expressway will be officially opened to traffic from 10:00 a.m. tomorrow.

According to Uong Viet Dung, office chief of the Ministry of Transport, the 49-kilometer Nha Trang-Cam Lam expressway and the 100.8-kilometer Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet expressway will be opened only for automobiles.

Pedestrians, rudimentary vehicles, motorcycles, tractors and motor vehicles with a designed speed of below 70 kph are not allowed to use the two new expressways.

Vehicles carrying poisonous, inflammable and explosive substances on the list of hazardous goods cannot run on the expressways unless otherwise authorized by competent agencies.

Vehicles can travel on the expressways at a maximum speed of 80 kph and a minimum speed of 60 kph.
