HCMC targets VND160,000-billion revenue from tourism in 2023

The tourism revenue exceeded VND60,000 billion, representing a 5.3-fold increase year-on-year, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
In 2023, the city targets to welcome 22 million tourists, rising by 17.6% over 2022. The number of international arrivals is expected to hit three million.
Local authorities expect to earn VND77,000 in revenue from tourism next year, up 28.2%.
Since early 2022, Hanoi authorities have launched initiatives to stimulate tourism growth, such as holding travel promotion events, improving service quality and diversifying tours to meet customer demands.
The city will seek to develop experiential tourism, focusing on the daily lives of local farmers in the city’s outlying areas.
In addition, Hanoi plans to strengthen tourism cooperation with other provinces and cities in light of the post-pandemic recovery.
