Vietnam aims for 100 more golf courses by 2025

HCMC – Vietnam aims to double the number of golf courses to 200 by 2025 to boost the country’s golf tourism and attract international golfers.

The country now has about 100 golf courses, Nguyen Trung Khanh, head of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, told a recent meeting with Paul Stringer, chairman of Nicklaus Design, the world’s leading golf course design company.

Boasting many hills, unspoiled landscapes and long coastal lines, Vietnam can develop modern and world-class golf courses, said the leader of the association.

Over the past few years, Vietnam has been focusing on golf tourism to diversify tourism products and services for foreign visitors, the local media reported.

The administration is set to launch multiple promotion programs to popularize Vietnam’s golf tourism among international tourists, Khanh said.

Paul Stringer highly valued Vietnam’s tourism achievements, saying that to develop golf tourism, it is necessary to own high-end golf courses. Vietnam is at an advantage of developing modern golf courses thanks to its modern tourism infrastructure.
