NDO - Another summer youth volunteer campaign has begun, bringing new opportunities for young people and members of the Youth Union to promote their strengths and contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.

Over the past 22 years, the “Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign” launched by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has gradually come to life.

Programmes and projects integrated into the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign have received increasing attention and support from the public. Tens of millions of young people have had the opportunity to practice, devote and grow, and many of them were admitted into the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Unlike previous campaigns, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union has expanded activities beyond the traditional scope of the campaign, focusing on projects suitable to the socio-economic development of the country and the specific situations in each locality.

The Youth Union at all levels across the country has established “Community Digital Transformation” teams to enhance digital capacity for children and the people. Volunteer teams reached out to 74 poor districts and 54 extremely difficult communes in addition to many remote and ethnic minority areas.

At the launch ceremony of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign in 2022, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union aimed to provide post-COVID-19 screening and chronic disease examination for at least 250,000 people, provide psychological counselling for at least 100,000 Youth Union members and children, introduce jobs for at least 300,000 Youth Union members, and others.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union also set a target to establish “Community Digital Transformation” teams at all Youth Union organisations at the commune, ward and town levels.

The Youth Union’s activities help to improve the effectiveness of communication and education of revolutionary ideals, patriotism, national pride, and the studying of Ho Chi Minh’s thought and morality. Thanks to the focused tasks associated with political tasks and the actual demand of each locality, the Youth Union at all levels will have the opportunity to break through and complete targets set out in 2022 and the 2017-2022 period.

Each activity and programme launched by the Youth Union should be more exciting and meaningful so that young people can show their talents, skills, and enthusiasm as well as have the opportunity to experience and dedicate themselves. The Youth Union of each locality should also make full use of resources and promote the application of science and technology and digital transformation in its activities and projects.
