Winners of National Press Awards on Party Building to be honoured on January 21
NDO – The award ceremony for the sixth National Press Awards on Party Building, called “Bua Liem Vang”
NDO - Press agencies need to adapt to the new normal and anticipate risks, thereby making clear communication orientations, to help people understand the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies.
The statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, at a spring press meeting held at the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper’s headquarters, in Hanoi on January 8.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy PM Dam extended his greetings and sincere thanks to the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Commission for Communications and Education, the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, Nhan Dan Newspaper and all other press agencies around the country, for their joint efforts in supporting the Government in overcoming a difficult year, while completing all major tasks.
He asked the State agencies to be more responsible and proactive, in providing the press with prompt and accurate information.
It is crucial to develop a large database system to connect press agencies, towards better serving communication and propaganda works in the near future, added the Deputy PM.
At the event, the PCC’s member and Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, who is also Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, noted that the past two years were difficult times for the press. However, he expressed his belief in the Vietnamese press’s development, in the coming year.

The common challenges of the press during 2022 and the follow years, are how to attract public attention amid the development of platforms and that press agencies should work together to better perform their assigned tasks in the new situation, added Minh.
Many delegates also reviewed the press’s achievements over recent years and gave their opinions for the goals and development, of the press in the near future.
