Thua Thien Hue gifts medical equipment to two Lao provinces

NDO – On June 17, a working group of Thua Thien Hue Province led by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh presented medical equipment to support the two Lao provinces of Salavan and Sekong in their fight against COVID-19.
The gifts included three million boxes of medical masks, 3,300 protective suits, 3,000 bottles of antiseptic solution, 80 body temperature monitors, and 6,000 pairs of medical gloves.
Speaking at the hand-over ceremony held at La Lay Border Gate in Quang Tri Province, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh stressed that Thua Thien Hue Province will continue closely coordinate with the provinces of Salavan and Sekong in COVID-19 prevention and control, working together to drive back the pandemic.
He expressed his belief that with the high determination, consensus and joint effort of the entire political systems and peoples of the two countries, Vietnam and Laos will successfully win in the fight against COVID-19.
For their parts, leaders of the two Lao provinces expressed their thanks and gratitude for the valuable support from the Thua Thien Hue Province, describing it as a huge source of encouragement for them in the COVID-19 battle.
They also pledged to continue working closely with Thua Thien Hue Province in COVID-19 prevention and control.
