Coffee shop on Bui Vien Street under lockdown due to new Covid-19 case

HCMC – HCMC’s competent forces today, February 3, put the Sabroso cafe shop at 211 Bui Vien Street in District 1 under lockdown after a Covid-19 patient, a 45-year-old notary officer from Hanoi City, visited the shop on January 29.

At 2.00 p.m. on the same day, a man and his wife living in an apartment building on the street were sent to a concentrated quarantine center as they visited the coffee shop. Besides, the competent forces disinfected the apartment building to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Nguyen Tri Dung, director of the HCMC Center for Disease Control, said that the city was enhancing efforts over contact tracing.

On January 29, the man travelled to HCMC at 6.30 a.m. via Vietnam Airlines flight VN7245. He was known to have visited the coffee shop on Bui Vien Street, an eatery on Banh Van Tran Street in Ward 7 of Tan Binh District and a boarding house on Truong Son Street in the district. He returned to Hanoi City via Bamboo Airways flight QH242 at night.

The competent forces have made an urgent announcement to trace passengers on the two flights that transported the coronavirus patient from Hanoi City to HCMC and vice versa, the local media reported.

Last night, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control announced that N.A.S, who lives in Vinh Tuy Ward in Hai Ba Trung District, tested positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

The patient had close contact with another Covid-19 patient at the Notary Office No. 3 at 6 Duy Tan Street in Cau Giay District’s Dich Vong Hau Ward on January 27.

The center said that 22 people who came into close contact with the notary officer tested negative for the disease for the first time.
