The city of Hanoi is preparing to transform a 6,800m² plot of land located between La Thành Street and Vành Đai 1 into a green space and parking area. This project is part of a broader initiative to improve urban infrastructure and landscaping in the area.

Currently, the site, which stretches between La Thành and Vành Đai 1 in the Ô Chợ Dừa ward, contains numerous residential buildings, shops, and construction materials. The area is undergoing land clearance to facilitate the development of a parking lot, green spaces, and flower gardens, with a total investment exceeding 2.9 trillion VND.

According to the approved plan, the entire area will be reorganized to create a cohesive system that includes parking facilities, green areas, and flower gardens, along with necessary technical infrastructure. Observations indicate that many existing buildings and shops are currently halted in construction due to their location within the planned land clearance zone.

This land clearance is part of the larger project for the Vành Đai 1 road segment from Hoàng Cầu to Voi Phục. The front of the site adjacent to Vành Đai 1 currently features several buildings under construction, but these projects have been temporarily suspended pending clearance. The area has seen the emergence of many small structures after previous land cuts and clearances aimed at developing the Vành Đai 1 road.

On the La Thành side, various businesses are operating, including those dealing in steel, wood, and household goods. The proximity of these structures creates narrow pathways, and the presence of electrical wires and construction materials adds to the area's cluttered appearance, contrasting sharply with the newly invested Vành Đai 1.

The investment aims to effectively utilize the remaining land after clearance, creating additional green spaces and enhancing the urban landscape along Vành Đai 1. Approximately 159 properties will be affected by the land clearance process, which is expected to take place from 2026 to 2029.
