Admire the early ripening rice season in Sapa, Vietnam

Visitors can enjoy seeing Sapa's terraced fields turn gold over the next 4-day holiday.
From the end of July to the beginning of September, while many famous destinations of the Northwest, such as Tu Le, Mu Cang Chai, and Tram Tau, have not yet ripened, in some places in Sa Pa, the terraced fields are already golden. The following points suit a rice hunting trip on the 2/9 holiday.

Nam Cang

Nam Cang may be an unfamiliar place to many tourists regarding Sapa. If you prefer a calm environment, Nam Cang is the best choice. From Sa Pa town, visitors drive towards Hoang Lien Son National Park, about 30 km from Nam Cang. Along the way to the commune, you will meet streams, forests and terraced fields. The best time to see Nam Cang terraced fields is from the end of July to the end of August when the weather is cool; the average temperature is 20-25 degrees Celsius.

You may enjoy the village walking here while taking in the view of the community. In the village, Mong and Dao ethnic people live, so when you stay, you can enjoy the specialties and have the opportunity to learn more about the traditional culture of the residents.

Nam Than - Nam Nhiu - Nam Sai

Going through Nam Cang commune is to Nam Than, Nam Nhiu and Nam Sai. All three communes are located quite far from the town and have beautiful natural scenery. This place is also known as "miniature Mu Cang Chai". The most suitable means of traveling to this commune is a motorbike. You can easily stop at your favorite places to take beautiful photos. However, you need to make sure the steering wheel is steady because the mountainous roads in Sa Pa are quite difficult to go.

In addition to admiring the magnificent picture of the terraced fields, here you can also learn about the indigenous culture of the Xa Pho, Dao, Tay, and Giay ethnic groups and see the moss-covered houses coiled up into the mountains on the roof, see the mothers and grandmothers in national costumes, quickly crocheting each shirt and brocade scarf.

Ta Van Village

Ta Van village is found in Ta Van commune, with its back to the mountain and its front to the Muong Hoa Valley. Because the surrounding scenery is all terraced fields, coming here in the rainy season in May-June or the ripe rice season in August-September are both beautiful times. In the morning, sipping a cup of tea, slowly looking in the distance where the terraced fields are wearing a new yellow shirt, visitors will have a comfortable feeling of relaxation.

The road to Ta Van village has been remodeled and cleaned, but still narrow, so to get a complete experience, you should find beautiful spots in advance and use a motorbike to move conveniently.

Ta Giang Phin Commune (Ngu Chi Son)

Ta Giang Phin commune (also known as Ngu Chi Son) is a border commune 28 km from the center of Sa Pa town. Visitors locate O Quy Ho village and then sprint to provincial route 155 for an additional 15 kilometers to get there. The road is a bit difficult, but you will admire the beautiful scenery when you get there.

Ngu Chi Son is a blend of thousands of rice fields, and simple houses, known as the mountain wonder between Sa Pa and Lai Chau. The 5 mountains are close together from a distance, like five fingers spread to the sky. The afternoon sunbeams illuminate green terraced fields as they dip down the mountain foot. Two delicious dishes that visitors should try when coming here are black chicken and salmon sashimi.

Y Linh Ho village

Y Linh Ho village is in the middle of Hoang Lien Son mountain and forest, blessed by nature with many beautiful scenes, terraced fields, forests and streams. To get here, you go in the direction of Lao Chai. The fields flowing from the hillside to the foot of the mountain turn golden and dazzling in the light during the nine-month rice season, which runs from August to September.

Y Linh Ho is also interested in the experience of trekking from the forest through the waterfall to the stream, rowing SUP, and immersing in the natural water of waterfalls and streams. The hospitality, honesty, and simplicity of the people here also make an impression.

Ta Phin village

Ta Phin village is about 12 km from Sapa town to the northeast. This is the residence area of the Dao and Hmong ethnic groups. You will enjoy the Northwest Mountains' stunning and serene natural environment as you go to Ta Phin. There are many beautiful terraced fields spread across the hillsides and mountains. Dotted are the stilt houses of the ethnic people and the corn fields. The best time to visit the village is from late August to mid-September.

Another famous check-in point is Ta Phin Ancient Monastery, with its Western architectural style. Ta Phin village is also famous for the experience of bathing with the medicinal leaves of the Dao people. You will be immersed in herbs and medicinal herbs; all fatigue seems to disappear. Taking a bath with medicinal leaves means washing away all bad luck, bringing health, refreshment and purifying the body.
