What to see in Ly Son Island, Vietnam?

Big Island
Visitors can rent an electric car for 300,000 VND once to explore the island. In addition, you can rent a motorbike, which costs 150,000 VND a day to visit.

Thoi Loi Peak

It is one of the five dormant volcanoes of the island district, with a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. The mountain has an altitude of about 170 m above sea level, and the top is a giant basin with a freshwater lake supplying water to the island district. There is a national flagpole 20 m high, a favorite destination of many tourists when coming to Ly Son.

Garlic fields

From the top of Thoi Loi, you can also spread your eyes to see the immense green garlic field. Garlic is also a famous specialty in Ly Son Island, Vietnam, used as a spice and processed into many delicious dishes, including garlic salad.

Cau Cave

The cave has a vertical cliff side and a smooth white beach on one side of the beach. Under the influence of wind and waves, the cliff has a unique shape, with colorful coral reefs near the coast. In the trench, the recommended activities are diving, coral watching, and kayaking.

To Vo Gate

One of the other typical destinations of the Big Island is the To Vo gate, to the east of the island. It is a stone gate, more than 2 m high, located by the sea. People believe that the lava that erupted from the volcano 2 million years ago, frozen when it met the seawater, formed the arch with this special shape, surrounded by black lava rock.
The best time to go to To Vo gate is at sunset when the sun gradually disappears behind the horizon, and the sun's rays glimmer through the rocky crevices. However, the gate is often crowded with visitors, so it is challenging to take pictures. Recently, the area has appeared to have a lot of tourist waste.

Hang Pagoda

The temple is more than 400 years old, located in a large cave near To Vo gate in the middle of the mountain. This place worships Buddha and the people who have openly reclaimed the island. The large temple yard is surrounded by ancient trees, where the statue of Guanyin Buddha is located overlooking the sea.

In the temple are altars carved on natural stalactites and Cham Pa relics. The mountain road to the temple is also one of the beautiful scenic spots, with views of garlic fields and peaceful villages.
