Mrs. Man (83 years old, from Nghia Hung commune) said that ancient pine trees were planted before 1975. “I left my hometown Thanh Hoa to work as a worker at Bien Ho tea farm after 1975. At that time, The pine trees have grown tall, so far, more than three people can’t hold the trunk,” said Mrs. In the early spring days, thousands of visitors came to take pictures at the hundreds of years old pine. The road leading from the beginning of the village 1 to the great pine tree, the traffic is busy. Mr. Phan Van Dong (67 years old) who used to work as a manager at Bien Ho tea farm for many years recalls, around 1991, Bien Ho Tea Company faced many difficulties. The company does not have enough money to pay workers. The leadership of the tea company at that time calculated sales of this pine. However, when cutting down some trees, the company’s union stopped them to protect them together as they are now.Mr. Huynh Trong Quang – Chairman of Nghia Hung Commune People’s Committee said that the Commune People’s Committee has attached signs numbered from 1-90, corresponding to 90 great pine trees for easy inspection and protection.
In addition, the commune propagates that people, in collaboration with Bien Ho Tea Joint Stock Company, have the same responsibility to care and protect hundreds of years old pine in order to preserve the landscape for tourism development.
Currently, the province and district also have a plan to call for investment in the tourism chain. Because in addition to the beautiful pine trees, there are also large tea hills covering both sides of the road, Bao Minh pagoda, and Chu Dang Ya volcano. These locations have potential for tourism development, creating opportunities for local people to develop their economy and stabilize their lives.
