Dozens of hot air balloons fly over Hanoi

On the morning of March 25, hundreds of tourists experienced the Hot Air Balloon Festival at the longan garden along the Red River.

“Hot Balloon Festival – Colorful Hanoi” took place at Long Bien longan garden area, Long Bien district, organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism. The event is part of the city’s response to reopening tourism activities, taking place from March 25 to March 27.

From 7:00 am, the technical team was present at the Red River beach to dismantle the hot air balloons and prepare to fly.

In order for the hot air balloon to rise, the inside needs to be filled with enough hot air. A small hot-air balloon that only needs to use a gas cylinder can fly to a height of 30 m.

Of the 22 hot air balloons at the event, two were 22 m high, using two gas cylinders with two nozzles, baskets with a lifting capacity of up to half a ton. Small hot air balloons are released at a height of 10 m and 22 m to serve tourists to take pictures and check-in.

Some visitors fly on-site on the first day of the festival. When reaching the height of 30 to 40 m, visitors will be able to freely zoom their eyes to see the city.

Young tourists take souvenir photos with hot air balloons. Ms. Thuy, from Ha Dong, brought her three children to the event, said: “It’s very interesting because this is the first time I’ve seen a hot air balloon. Hope the whole family will experience flying and see the city from above. “.

A large hot air balloon is inflated but not released into the sky for visitors to visit inside. From March 26, the event will sell entrance tickets for 60,000 VND/person, free for children under 1.1 m. Tickets to visit hot air balloons cost 25,000 VND, flight tickets are 150,000 VND/child and 300,000 VND/adult.

22 hot air balloons will hover at various heights along the Red River day and night, during the event. After this festival, hot air balloons will be a regular tourist product of Hanoi at the Long Bien longan garden.

Hot air balloons are only allowed to fly in conditions of wind level 3 or below and no rain. In case of bad weather, the show will be postponed. Travelers who buy tickets will be refunded, or make up for another day.
