Nam Nghiep village, Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district, Son La province is in the season of Camellia flowers. There are thousands of Camellia trees planted by the villagers for a long time, every spring the flowers bloom white on the mountains and hills. Local people often harvest the fruit to soak in wine, honey, or sugar.

This year, Nam Nghiep village is only known to tourists, so it is still quite wild. This is also a new route for those who want to climb Ta Chi Nhu, if trekking through Nam Nghiep village, the climb will be about 10 km both up and down.

From Ngoc Chien to Nam Nghiep village, there are about 10 km of very bad dirt roads, dry weather is difficult to go, so if it rains, it will be even more dangerous. The road to Nam Nghiep village and Son Tra flower forest can only be reached by pickup trucks or two-wheelers. If not, tourists have to rent a car from the local people, motorbike taxi to carry both to and from about 300,000 VND/person.

Mr. Tran Thuong (nicknamed Old Meo) and his group of friends crossed more than 310 km from Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai and then turned to Ngoc Chien to go to Nam Nghiep village to see flowers at the weekend. His group was lucky because on the way back, just passed the bad part to return to Ngoc Chien when it rained heavily.

Flowers will still bloom until the beginning of April if the weather is warm and sunny, without much rain. However, tourists who want to see the best time should come to Nam Nghiep in March.
